Through a combination of inheritance and "sweat equity", this company was the first in the portfolio of Kingdom Holding.
Ecclesia Systemer was established in 1983. In the very beginning it did a wide variety of local computer sales and support, and from 1986 and on, the emphasis was more and more on databases and systems for cemetery management untill that was the only thing from around 1993. In 2003/2004, we pioneered cloud based web based solutions for the public sector and helped a lot of our clients install their very first web browser and office internet access so that they could use the application.

Kingdom Holding provided senior management and board support for the company directly, as well as operations for the company through its portfolio company Kommunion AS. In 2021, we exited with a 100% sale to Vitec Software. Vitec is a company listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm stock exchange - focusing on vertical software.

At the time of the exit, the company held 84% market share in cemetery management systems in Norway. Companies were local government funded entities all across Norway, from Norway´s smallest municipality, Utsira, all the way to the country´s capital, the city of Oslo . The company at that time invoiced 1.1 B NOK annually on behalf of its customers, and held a total of 5.5 M people in its databases.
