As a small angel investment firm, we want to steward our capital in such a way that we create a certain impact in accordance with specific values. This has a bearing on which companies we add to our portfolio as well as which founders we would like to work with. In the daily governance, this also influences what we would like measured and reported in addition to finances.
We have chosen two frameworks that we work within: The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and the Christian Impact Framework. These guiding principles help us assess potential investments not just from a financial perspective but also from an ethical and impact-driven standpoint.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) are a set of 17 global objectives established by the United Nations to address critical social, economic, and environmental challenges. These goals serve as a universal blueprint for promoting peace, prosperity, and sustainability by 2030. At Kingdom Holding, in order to keep a sharp focus, we have chosen to align our investments with a selection of these goals to ensure that our portfolio companies contribute to meaningful, positive change in society.
The SDGs that we observe are shown in full color below and can be clicked to see which of our portfolio companies are associated with it.
The Christian Impact Framework is a values-based investment approach that seeks to integrate biblical principles into business and finance. It emphasizes ethical leadership, social responsibility, and stewardship, ensuring that investments contribute to human flourishing while upholding Christian values. While we do not require our founders to be Christian, we expect them to demonstrate integrity, compassion, and a commitment to positive societal transformation. At Kingdom Holding, we use this framework to guide our decision-making, ensuring that the companies we invest in align with ethical and purpose-driven values.
In general, you might say that we mainly engage with tech companies that want to make this world a better place for everybody. But we do make some exceptions regarding industry, as you can see from our portfolio. Our Haugian heritage, inspired by the 19th-century entrepreneur and revivalist Hans Nielsen Hauge, also leads us to a holistic vision of societal betterment. Hauge believed in enterprise as a means of spiritual and social transformation, a principle that resonates deeply in our investment philosophy.
At Kingdom Holding, governance is not merely about compliance—it is about conviction. We invest in companies that align with our values, and we hold ourselves accountable to a higher standard of stewardship. By doing so, we aim to foster enterprises that contribute meaningfully to a just, sustainable, and flourishing society.
